Don't Interrupt When People Speak

Patience comes with maturity. Maturity brings along grace. Older man needs to be more gracious and more patient while younger man must learn to be more obedient and more understanding.

Let us not interrupt when our little ones speak. They have so much to share with us. Let them form their childish thoughts into ideas, and speak with words that you and I can comprehend.

Let us not interrupt when our young men speak. They have so much to inform us. Let them polish their simplistic thoughts into complex ideas, and speak with words that are intelligent to us.

Let us not interrupt when our colleagues and friends speak. They have so much to assist us. Let them contribute their well-founded thoughts into our friendships and organizations that can bring mutual benefits, encouragement, edification, advancements and satisfactions.

Let us not interrupt when our old men speak. They have so much to teach us. Let us quietly, reverently and attentively listen to them. Their experiences in past dealings can really help us tackle with ease and effective our daily undertakings as we advanced in age.

Let us not interrupt when our enemies and competitors speak. They have so much to prepare us. Let them speak their hearts out that we may put together plans and design, and quietly practise and implement strategies and techniques that give us an upper hand.

Don't rush into things. There is always a time for everything. Be patient and you will definitely learn a great deal from your young ones, your young men, your colleagues and friends, your old men, and even your enemies and competitors. And so I pray... O God, teach me to be a good listener.
