Bridge Over Troubled Water

Help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You,
and in Your name we go against this multitude.
- 2 Chronicles 14:11 -

Asa was faced with the options of panic or pray. He was attacked by an Ethiopian army of a million men.

Asa faced this huge fighting force.

Instead of relying on military strategy or cowering in dread, Asa turned to the Lord God in urgent prayer.

He prayed a powerful and humble prayer.

He confessed his total dependence on Him, he asked for help, and appealed to Him to protect His own name (2 Chronicles 14:11).

The Lord responded to Asa’s prayer.

Asa won the victory over the Ethiopian army.

When we are faced with problem of different types, let us not panic.

Instead, let us turn to God who fights for His people and gives them victory.

A Sudden Rain

A sudden rain...
revealing the sticky dirt and stains on the roads, paths and trails;
showing the leaking roofs, ceilings, windows, doors, and walls.

A sudden rain...
opening our eyes to the sinful and evil acts and intentions of men;
unveiling our spiritual poverty, wretchedness, blindness, and nakedness.

A sudden rain...
washing away the bad memories and traces of the past;
cleansing the mind and heart of many sorrows, pains and other sufferings.

A sudden rain...
revealing our spiritual emptiness and hunger;
opening the doors to God's grace, mercy, and love.

Peace Of God

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way.
- 2 Thessalonians 3:16 -

Some people move through life without issues or concerns.

They are always steady and secure.

Some, however, are easily unsettled, even with the slightest issue.

The Bible reminds us that genuine calm can be found in the presence of God.

When our lives are disturbed and unsettled, let us rest assured in the peace of God.
