All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The best way we can be prepared for trials and persecution is by seriously studying and learning the Word of God.
And the right attitude to Bible study:
First, let us approach the Bible with the desire to see the goodness and loving-kindness of God and understand how “wide and long and high and deep” is His love for us. Let His love show us His supply for our own need before we learn to help others.
Second, let us approach the Bible with humility. Let us study the Bible and discover what God has said. Bible study is meant to transform us every day.
Third, let us memorize God’s Word every day.
